The web version of Meta's Threads rumored to debut this week

According to a Wall Street Journal report, Meta Platforms Inc. intends to introduce a web version of its Threads microblogging platform, early next week. X Inc., formerly known as Twitter, has frequently been compared to Threads despite its limited feature set.

On July 5, Meta announced its launch with fanfare and a spike in user interest. Despite the fact that less than a week after the service’s launch, the number of registered users soared to more than 100 million. One of the reasons users left Threads is the lack of features, at least in comparison to X.

Since not everyone prefers to use smartphone apps, especially corporate users, the service’s inability to be used on the web is arguably one of its biggest flaws.
