Despite releasing a new and improved verification process in May to help signify notable identities in several defined categories, researchers have discovered that even Twitter’s new system is still flawed, potentially in a major way, with several bot profiles receiving the prestigious blue tick while using entirely fake identities.
Six bot accounts, each created less than a month ago, have been accepted for verification, despite surviving Twitter’s new, more stringent testing process, according to a data researcher known on the network as Conspirador Norteo.
