The US Justice Department to Sue Google Over Digital Advertising Business

According to a source familiar with the subject, the US Justice Department is preparing a second monopoly lawsuit against Google over its digital advertising business, bolstering the government’s arguments that Google is abusing its dominance.

In October, the Justice Department filed a lawsuit against Google, accusing the company of illegally leveraging its market power to stifle competitors. The date for the trial has been fixed for September 2023.

Google is accused of abusing its market position in an attempt to make its search engine as dominant inside automobiles, TVs, and speakers as it is in phones, according to a lawsuit filed by 38 US states and territories. For the purposes of discovery, this was combined with the federal lawsuit.
