The Federal Trade Commission Files New Antitrust Case Against Facebook

Following the dismissal of a recent FTC antitrust case against Facebook due to the lack of compelling evidence to back up its claims, the Federal Trade Commission has launched an amended antitrust case against the social media giant, in which it will seek to address anti-competitive behaviour by the company and possibly push for a breakup of its various components.

As per FTC, “Today, the Federal Trade Commission filed an amended complaint against Facebook in the agency’s ongoing federal antitrust case. The complaint alleges that after repeated failed attempts to develop innovative mobile features for its network, Facebook instead resorted to an illegal buy-or-bury scheme to maintain its dominance.”
