Staples Center will rebrand as Crypto.com Arena in latest sign of techs takeover

The Staples Center in Los Angeles will be renamed the Crypto.com Arena on December 25 as part of a 20-year patent agreement between the cryptocurrency platform and AEG, the stadium owner, according to the announcement. Singapore’s Crypto.com has paid $ 700 million to secure the rights, reports the Los Angeles Times, citing sources familiar with the matter.

As part of the deal, Crypto.com will be the official cryptocurrency partner of the Los Angeles Lakers and Kings. The new logo, product line and interior signs will appear on Christmas Day as part of the game between the Lakers and the Brooklyn Nets, while all outdoor signs will be replaced in June 2022. Crypto.com will find a 3,300-square-foot “refurbishment” at the local entrance, as well as locations throughout the main stadium and near the L.A. campus. LIVE.
