The latest platform by Spotify is halting political ad sales across the U.S., starting from 2020- reported Ad Age, the global media brand publishing. There would be no political advertising for 130 million users of their ad-supported plan or their exclusive podcasts.

Tech giants like Twitter, LinkedIn, Facebook, etc. have been struggling to handle political ads on their platforms, especially before the U.S. Presidential Election in 2020. Twitter, Bing, and LinkedIn banned promoting political ads, and Facebook too introduced new rules for the same.

Recently, Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey tweeted, “While internet advertising is incredibly powerful and very effective for commercial advertisers, that power brings significant risks to politics, where it can be used to influence votes to affect the lives of millions.”
