Snapchat Launches New 'After Dark' Element to Promote Participatory Sharing

Snapchat has officially launched its new “After Dark” feature, which will let users post exclusive content for their friends after 8 pm.

Only those who have also posted on their Stories will be able to access, after first teasing the feature at its Snap Partner Summit back in April.  A collection of user-submitted Snaps from the previous night will be available as a separate Snap Story called “After Dark.”

It also leans towards the BeReal active sharing philosophy, which encourages posting that is less polished and more spontaneous and can strengthen relationships through shared experiences.
