Snap appoints new executive in its pursuit of monetization

According to information provided by Marketing Dive, Snap has appointed Ty Ahmad-Taylor, a former executive at Meta, as its vice president of organic growth and product marketing.

Ahmad-Taylor will be in charge of the company’s advertising and revenue-generating product marketing in her new role. He will also oversee Snap’s product and go-to-market strategies for its advertising business. This is in line with Snaps plans to adapt to changing consumer and governmental concerns regarding social media. The business announced a radical restructuring plan in August 2022 that called for 20% of the workforce to be let go.

Snap CEO Evan Spiegel announced a change in direction for the company, focusing on three strategic priorities: community growth, revenue growth, and leveraging augmented reality.
