According to information provided to Marketing Dive, the new music platform Minibeats has developed Snapchat lenses that enable users to make their own renditions of songs by artists using AR effects.

Users can get musical tattoos, put “musical masks” on their hands that sing along to songs, and use hand motions like waving to activate musical phrases from songs. At the launch, artists like Killboy, Alice Glass, Taetro, and Phil Good will perform. Playable stem tracks are among the first-of-their-kind in-lens purchases offered by the Minibeats lenses.

According to Minibeats, artists will receive a 50% cut of the money generated by their lenses. Compared to most streaming platforms, that cut is significantly higher.
