CRM leader Salesforce has announced plans to acquire e-commerce software startup Mobify. The Vancouver-based startup Mobify will provide Salesforce Commerce Cloud with a storefront solution that will allow brands to customize their commerce experiences faster and more frequently. The Mobify team will join Salesforce after the acquisition.

Mobify’s platform works on top of its clients’ existing systems with APIs, and offers a built-in infrastructure to host, secure, integrate, and scale a storefront. Mobify CEO and co-founder Igor Faletski called the acquisition a “natural extension” of a multi-year partnership between the startup and Salesforce. Brands like Under Armour and Shiseido are some of Mobify’s customers.
