Russian Court Fines Google for Not Deleting Banned Content-01

A Moscow court has fined Alphabet’s Google 4 million roubles (USD52,526) for failing to remove access to banned content in Russia, the latest in a series of fines for the US tech giant.

Late last year, Russia upped the ante in its efforts to put further pressure on Silicon Valley, fining Google and Meta Platforms huge, revenue-based fines for repeatedly failing to delete information that Moscow deems illegal.

According to the TASS news agency, Google was fined for providing links to banned websites.
