Quora introduces Poe, a way to communicate with AI chatbots such as ChatGPT

Quora launched this week a platform called Poe that enables users to ask questions, receive instant answers, and engage in a back-and-forth dialogue with AI chatbots, signaling its interest in text-generating AI systems such as ChatGPT.

A Quora representative told TechCrunch that Poe, which stands for “Platform for Open Exploration,” is “designed to be a place where people can easily interact with a number of different AI agents” and is currently only accessible on iOS. Poe, then, isn’t an effort to create an AI model similar to ChatGPT from scratch.

The ability of ChatGPT to sometimes provide answers that sound convincing but aren’t factually true has caused controversy. ChatGPT is developed for providing answers to questions on subjects ranging from poetry to coding.
