Plex has launched its free, ad-supported video streaming service, in more than 200 countries. It comes with a collection of thousands of movies, TV shows, concerts, documentaries, and more that can be streamed via the Plex app or on the web.

Plex says there are around 70 hubs that will offer this service. There are several similar offerings in the market that stream movies and TV shows without subscriptions. The business model is an advertisement that will support it completely.

Plex has also, acknowledged the presence of competitors like The Roku Channel, Tubi, Crackele, etc., but plans to be the leader. However, it believes that the advantage it offers is an integrated product designed to synthesize music, podcasts, and video in a single interface.
