Pinterest is experimenting with a new ad unit called “Premiere Spotlight” that would place a brand’s promotion in the prominent, top-of-screen real estate on the search page of the app.

With captivating, in-stream video promotions, Premiere Spotlight will give advertisers top billing for 24 hours. In order to drive direct response from the promotion, users can tap on the “Visit Site” CTA in the advertisement and be directed to the brand’s website, which opens within the Pinterest app.

Although Pinterest hasn’t yet disclosed the exact costs of the ad unit, it appears likely to be a premium option, which might make it less appealing to most people.
