Pakistan has recently announced the ban of the short video app, TikTok – due to its immoral and offensive content. This is a result of ongoing complaints from various segments of society. As a result, the country raised concerns about the circulation of such videos, which could seriously impact people.

As mentioned by the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority – “TikTok has been informed that the authority is open for engagement and will review its decision subject to a satisfactory mechanism by TikTok to moderate unlawful content.”
This will not be a major issue for TikTok as Pakistan has only 35% of citizens (out of 212 million) with internet connectivity. However, it is still alarming for the future of the app.
