Sportswear company Nike Inc. (NKE) has announced that it is working with Roblox to create a virtual world known as Nikeland in the Roblox online playground. The visual world includes Nike buildings, stadia and arenas for people to participate in a variety of mini-games such as tag, dodgeball to “The Floor Is Lava.” Nikeland, which will be free, is modelled at the real company headquarters.
Over time, the company plans to set playing times, which feature international sporting events such as a soccer event during the World Cup or a soccer flag during the Super Bowl. Nike said it will work on revamping the physical world to make it easier to integrate a better athlete and product combination.
