New York and other US states have filed a notice in an appeals court stating that they will contest the dismissal of an antitrust lawsuit they filed against Facebook.
A federal and state antitrust complaint filed against the social media company in June was dismissed by a US court, who had attempted to force it to sell WhatsApp and Instagram.
New York Attorney General Letitia James said the states would continue to fight – “We filed this notice of appeal because we disagree with the court’s decision and must hold Facebook accountable for stifling competition, reducing innovation and cutting privacy protections,” she said.
