Microsoft assures publishers as ad volume increases in Bing powered by AI

According to a blog post by vice president and consumer CMO Yusuf Mehdi, Microsoft is experimenting with new methods of distributing advertising revenue to publishers via its artificial intelligence-powered Bing Chat.

To better assist publishers who provided information for the chatbot’s response, the tech giant is “exploring placing ads in the chat experience,” Mehdi wrote. The impact of generative AI on search marketing is still in its infancy.

Since its launch in February, Bing Chat has featured ads in some form, but Microsoft wants to let publishers know that they can get a bigger share of the action as the feature increases user engagement and brand loyalty.
