Meta, formerly the Facebook Company, announced an investment of $800 million in Temple, Texas, to build a Hyperscale Data Center.
When completed, the new facility will cover approximately 900,000 square feet and will be located on 393 acres near NW H K Dodgen Loop and Industrial Blvd. It will support approximately 100 operational jobs in the community.
During peak construction, which is scheduled to begin in spring 2022, the project is expected to employ 1,250 construction workers on-site. Meta has invested in over 700 MW of new wind and solar energy in Texas. The company augments the local grids of each data center with new renewable energy.
