According to the sources, Meta would no longer produce Portal devices for consumers. The smart display and home video line will apparently be repositioned as a commercial offering, with current consumer versions being phased out.
According to reports, Meta will sell all remaining inventory of previously issued models and will continue to assist existing clients, but future releases will focus on business applications. In the past, Meta has developed numerous versions of Portal, including the Portal TV, which transforms televisions into large smart displays, and the Portal Go, which can be removed from its charging dock and transported around.
Meta has reportedly scrapped plans for its long-rumored dual-camera smartwatch, in addition to cutting off consumer Portals.
