Meta has announced that it is making Horizon Worlds VR a creative and collaborative platform available to all US and Canadian users, which will be an important VR presentation for many new Meta VR users who are set to find a headset under the Christmas tree this year.
The expansion of access to Horizon Worlds comes at a crucial time, as sales of Quest 2 headsets are already three times higher than previous VR devices, based on ratings. Last month, Qualcomm, which supplies chips to Quest units, said Meta had already sold 10 million Quest 2 programs, and although Meta did not provide official sales statistics, indications were that more people were now paying attention to VR, which may have improved the Metaverse-inspired corporate name change.
