Meta has published a new overview of its evolving efforts to combat coordinated influence operations across its apps, which became a key focus for the platform following the 2016 US Presidential Election, in which Russian-based operatives were found to be using Facebook to influence US voters.

Since then, Meta claims to have found and stopped more than 200 covert influence operations. In addition, it says it has shared data on each network’s behavior with other players in the market so that everyone can benefit from the same information and come up with more effective defenses against them.

According to Meta, it has discovered influence operations aimed at more than 100 different countries, with the US being the most frequently targeted, followed by Ukraine and the UK.
