In order to support Meta’s metaverse hardware initiatives, Microsoft and Meta have announced a partnership that will add new content, such as Windows apps and Teams tie-ins.

Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella announced during this morning’s Meta Connect conference that Microsoft Teams will work with Quest devices and that Microsoft will offer a way to stream Windows apps to Meta’s headsets. Xbox Cloud Gaming, Microsoft’s game streaming service, will eventually be available on Quest devices, according to Nadella.

Microsoft 365 will be integrated into Quest on the Windows side, according to Nadella, allowing users to interact with content from productivity apps like Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
