Meta is pursuing legal action against yet another company for scraping profile data from Facebook and Instagram, as it continues to push for the establishment of a legal precedent prohibiting data abuse.

According to a statement by Meta, “Meta has brought legal action against Voyager Labs in the federal court in California.” An illegal data collection operation called Voyager Labs scraped information from Facebook, Instagram, and other websites. In addition to disabling Voyager’s accounts, we also asked the court to bar Voyager from using Facebook and Instagram by filing this lawsuit to enforce our terms and policies.

According to Meta, Voyager Labs launched scraping campaigns on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, YouTube, LinkedIn, and Telegram using proprietary software.
