Based on a LinkedIn post by Omar Abedin, CMO at Graana – the current LinkedIn reactions are lacking empathy and inappropriate concerning the widespread situation due to Coronavirus. Tagging LinkedIn CEO, he claimed that people should be able to show care or express their emotions on related updates.

LinkedIn Releases Data on Latest Trends for Content

In response to the criticism, Jeff Weiner, CEO at LinkedIn, commented tagging the Product Management team – “Agreed. The ability to provide feedback requires more nuance, especially given the current landscape.” Earlier, the company rolled out its ‘Reactions’ in August 2019 with five different responses. Thus it can be assumed the networking company may come up with new reactions soon.
