Instagram is developing a new set of message labels for business accounts, which would make it easier to manage customer interactions in user DMs.

In order to help businesses better manage their interactions in the app, the social media platform is looking to add five new labels for the IG Direct messages. That could offer a convenient way for SMBs to keep track of crucial interactions for their brand even though they lack access to more sophisticated CRM features. Instagram’s business DM features, such as welcome messages and saved replies, would be supplemented by the new labels.

Similar labels can be added to chats by businesses on Facebook, though their use is a little different from that of these more specific tags.
