Instagram has started testing a new format for the Stories feature on the desktop version of the social media platform. In the previous format, one story would take up the entire screen; the new format presents Stories in a carousel manner. This makes it easier to flip through Stories stream in a dedicated Stories focused manner.
Instagram has consistently given higher focus to Stories as it became more popular in terms of engagement than the regular news feed. The organization has confirmed that the new feature is available to a small group of users; however, no official information is available regarding the broader rollout.
