Facebook has recently announced that its new, revamped Instagram Lite app is now available to more. The company launched this app in India back in December 2020, enabling users to use the platform with low connectivity.
In this context, they explains – “Many of the regions that are connected do not possess the most up-to-date mobile devices, robust internet networks, or affordable data plans needed for the swift delivery of the data-rich videos and images found on Instagram.”
Now the regions with low network speed can utilize most of the features of Instagram as it is live in 170 regions. It requires only 2 MB to download on Android – compared to the 30 MB standard version. However, the Instagram Lite app does not have some advanced tools like innovative AR filters.
