Instagram announced the launch of its TikTok-Esque feature “Reels” in over 50 countries. This comes ahead of the potential ban on TikTok in the U.S. Parent company Facebook is pushing to take advantage of the possibility and launching the feature in more regions other than the four where it is already going strong. TikTok creators worried about their efforts being erased from existence, can use Reels as the alternate landing platform.

TikTok has been provided time till 15th August to offer and accept a deal that makes it U.S owned. Facebook has reportedly already offered the top TikTok creators with lucrative offers to shift platforms. Facebook has previously tested similar products like Lasso, Bonfire, Poke, SlingShot, etc.
