Instagram Adds New Tools to Protect Users from Unwanted Contact-01

Instagram has recently said it is introducing some new features to protect users from abusive DMs and unwanted contact. This will be done with the ability to filter DM requests which include offensive words.

It is a new approach to stop users that one has already blocked from contacting via a different account. The main addition is the new filter tool for DM requests.

The primary addition will let Instagram users see an option to “Hide message requests”, alongside comments in their “Hide Offensive Content” feature. When this is activated, any DMs that include offensive terms (defined by Instagram) will be stored into the new folder within a user’s inbox.
