Google to Pay About $8 Million Due to Claims of Deceptive Advertisements

Google has approved to pay $8 million to settle the claims that it used deceptive advertisements to promote the Pixel 4 smartphone, Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton announced on Friday. The federal government and state attorneys have examined Google for antitrust and consumer protection violations. The federal government files two antitrust lawsuits. Paxton’s office reported that Google employed radio announcers to give references about the Pixel 4 even after the company refused to use the phones.
