Google Announces Plans to invest $10 billion in India to Boost Digitization

Alphabet’s Google has announced it is committing to invest $10 billion in India to accelerate
digitization.

The company plans to invest the money via operational, infrastructure and ecosystem investments and partnerships via the “Google for India Digitization Fund”, said Sundar Pichai, CEO of Alphabet. He was speaking via a webcast during an annual Google for India event.

Google also plans to focus on areas like artificial intelligence and education in India. The fund will also be used for digital transformation to help businesses in India go digital-first.
