FTC investigates Elon Musk regarding Twitter Files and Twitter Blue

According to the Wall Street Journal, the Federal Trade Commission has requested internal communications from Twitter Inc. regarding a number of events that have occurred since Elon Musk assumed leadership.

That report claims that the agency has been harassing Twitter ever since Musk took over, sending numerous emails to try and better understand how the company operates. These letters address several topics, including Twitter’s mass layoffs, its contentious Twitter Blue service, and the even more contentious Twitter Files, which appear to reveal the influence that government agencies had over some of the pre-Musk narratives that appeared on Twitter.

The letters to Twitter seem to indicate that the FTC is concerned that Twitter hasn’t been following the compliance standards it set after being fined USD 150 million for immoral conduct in May of last year.
