Sridhar Ramaswamy, a former executive who ran Google’s ad business has launched a new
company ‘Neeva’ with another former Google executive, Vivek Raghunathan. The duo is
launching a new search engine that doesn’t advertise to its users at all. Neeva will initially be free and will cost less than 10$ per month later with an aim to decrease as more subscribers join. The search engine will not track users and it will be personalized without data mining. Neeva aims to deliver its promise on search quality and differentiate from that on Google. The founders said the search engine will first develop a large user base to become sustainable in the long run and then capture a greater share of the market.
