Facebook, Twitter, and YouTube Uniting to Combat Vaccine Misinformation

With the coronavirus vaccine approaching its release, multiple tech giants have agreed to work together on a new strategy with governments, fact-checkers, and researchers. This is primarily to focus on formulating improved programs to combat the misinformation around the vaccine.

Lately, vaccine information and misinformation are abundant on different social networks – which is raising questions on their efficacy.

As a result, Facebook, Twitter, and YouTube set up new policies to tackle misinformation and respond to it. An initial framework will be rolled out in January 2021 with funding from Facebook. However, it is still not clear how this program is estimated to improve the content across the platforms.
