On Thursday Facebook’s platforms including Messenger, Instagram and WhatsApp were down for thousands of users, as per outage tracking website Downdetector.com. Downdetector tracks outages by aggregating status reports from multiple sources, including user-submitted errors on its platform.
Reports by users showed over 112,000 issues on Facebook’s website, with around 516 WhatsApp users and 101,000 Instagram users reporting problems.
In March, more than a million users reported problems with Instagram. The issue had also affected Messenger and WhatsApp, with #whatsappoutage trending on Twitter in several countries, including India.
