Facebook has recently announced the next phase in its shift for full integration of the messaging services. This time the will be an addition of end-to-end encryption for voice as well as video calls within the Messenger app.
Besides, the company indicated of new experiments in order to expand its encryption features to Instagram Direct.
As explained by the social media giant, “In the past year, we’ve seen a surge in the use of audio and video calling with more than 150 million video calls a day on Messenger. Now we’re introducing calling to this chat mode so you can secure your audio and video calls with this same technology, if you choose.”
