Facebook has recently announced that it is now making the photo and video transfer tool
available to users in all regions. The tool will enable the users to copy their photos and
videos from Facebook to Google Photos.
Back in December 2019, Facebook first announced this feature with users in Ireland and
now made it accessible to all. This initiation is the first step for Facebook’s expanded data
portability approach – that is expected to explore new ways to allow users to share
Facebook data into Google.
Many brands already see it as a better means to ingratiate itself with the FTC and fade the
arguments of market dominance.
