Facebook launches a test of a new VR remote work app where users of the company’s Oculus Quest 2 headgear can have meetings as avatar versions of themselves.
The beta test of the Horizon Workrooms app comes as many organizations continue to work remotely after the COVID-19 crisis shut down physical workspaces and as a new strain spreads around the world.
Facebook sees the latest launch as a first step toward creating the futuristic “metaverse” that CEO Mark Zuckerberg has talked about in recent weeks.
