Facebook has recently announced that it is about to start with its new trail, which will see a decline of political content in the news feeds. This is in response to the concerns about the influences of divisive political debates within the platform.
As explained by the company, “As Mark Zuckerberg mentioned on our recent earnings call, one common piece of feedback we hear is that people don’t want political content to take over their News Feed.”
For the next few months, the platform will work around to understand users’ varied preferences over political content. As a result, it planned to test specific approaches based on such insights.
