Facebook has taken fresh legal steps in collaboration with Gucci to combat the selling of counterfeit products on its websites, marking a significant move forward in the company’s expanding eCommerce sector.
Facebook and Gucci America, Inc. filed a lawsuit in the United States District Court for the Northern District of California against a person for violating Facebook and Instagram’s terms and infringing on Gucci’s intellectual property rights. To evade Facebook’s regulatory actions to continue to facilitate the selling of imitation Gucci merchandise, the defendant used several Facebook and Instagram profiles.
