Facebook Announces Complete Ban on Holocaust Denial Content

Since 2018, Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg has sparked off both concern and controversy by stating in his interview that Facebook will not ban Holocaust deniers from the platform.

Zuckerberg stated, “I find [Holocaust denialism] deeply offensive. But at the end of the day, I don’t believe that our platform should take that down because I think there are things that different people get wrong. I don’t think that they’re intentionally getting it wrong.”

He later clarified this by explaining that Facebook’s fake news is not intended to prevent anyone from saying something untrue but simply pausing the fake news and misinformation spread across varied services.

He also explained that while the platform would not block or remove such content, it would surely seek to limit its distribution and the impact of it.
