Elon Musk accused of intentionally slowing down access to news and competing apps

X Corp., formerly known as Twitter Inc., is rumoured to have throttled links to websites and applications that X owner Elon Musk disapproves of.

Although the problem has been fixed, there was a five-second delay when an X user clicked on a link to Facebook, Instagram, or Threads, all of which are owned by Meta Platforms Inc. According to reports, the same thing transpired whenever a user clicked a link to Reuters, The New York Times, or the publishing website Substack.

Links to websites like the social networking platform Mastodon and the YouTube website, owned by Google LLC, were unaffected. As usual, the travel time to those sites from X was only a few seconds.
