BuzzFeed names Christian Baesler as COO

BuzzFeed

BuzzFeed has appointed Christian Baesler as its chief operating officer, filling a role that remained vacant for more than seven years just a month after the company’s disappointing debut on the Nasdaq.

The company has not had a COO since Jon Steinberg resigned in 2014.

Baesler joined BuzzFeed last month after acquiring Complex Networks, where he will continue as chief executive officer. He has overseen the operation of the Complex and its product portfolio from 2018.

BuzzFeed shares fell 17% at its inception, after its merger with a blank-check company suffered a series of withdrawal from investors.
