WhatsApp has taken steps to enter the e-Commerce business to help its 2 billion active users monetize their business. Facebook has already rolled out Shops feature on both Instagram and Facebook.
WhatsApp has rolled out two features: catalog links to help promote product listings in the app and QR codes for the business. QR code will help businesses to connect with their customers by starting a message thread directly. Catalog links will help customers view what products and services are offered by the business.
