Amazons holiday window showcases Alexa-enabled experiences

Amazon has created the world’s first smart holiday window, “Alexa in a Pear Tree,” bringing a collaborative experience that is transmitted through movement, sound and light, according to recent reports.

The show features Amazon Alexa and other tools like the Echo, Fire TV and Kindle while allowing guests to ask Alexa to turn on smart holiday lights, drive Santa and play season music, among other activities. It started in the SoHo area of New York on Dec. 4 and will continue until Dec. 12.

While sales window displays designed to inspire and entertain holiday shoppers are a century-old tradition, Amazon’s offer points to the potential role of a customized experience driven by smart technology.
