Alphabet Seeks Removal of Justice Department lawsuit Alleging Google’s Online Advertising

Google parent Alphabet on Monday requested a U.S. federal judge to remove a Justice Department lawsuit alleging Google illegally abused its dominance of online advertising.

Google argued that the case should be dismissed because the government had misinterpreted defining the online advertising market and inadequately excluded powerful competitors like Facebook. It also stated that the government’s evaluation of Google’s ad exchange has “more than 50%” of the market. It has now fallen short of the 70% needed to allege market power. The case goes to trial in September
