According to a report by Reuters, Chief Executive Officer (CEO)of Alphabet, Sundar Pichai, will get total compensation of USD 226 million in 2022, 800x more than the median employee’s pay. The company’s securities filing shows Pichai’s compensation included about USD 218 million in stock awards.
The pay disparity was when Google’s parent company, Alphabet, had been laying off resources globally. In January, The Mountain View, California-based company announced plans to lay off 12,000 resources globally, equivalent to 6% of its workforce.
