Ad Group WPP Hits First-quarter Net Sales Despite Weaker U.S Tech Expenditure

The world’s largest advertising group WPP reported a rise of 2.9% in the first quarter net sales despite lower expenditure from some U.S. tech clients. The group had forecasted annual growth of 3-5% in its key sales told that consumer packaged goods groups have strongly spent for ads in Britain. This has led to sales growth of 7.4% ahead of North America, where sales rose by 1.9% as clients started expenditure on technology and digital services. The overall sales growth is driven by digital and data-driven businesses backed by artificial intelligence (AI) tools.
