Mobile Virtual Service Operators (MVNOs) using Plintron’s MVNA (Mobile Virtual Network Aggregator)/MVNE (Mobile Virtual Network Enabler) platform can offer differentiated services using 5G , such as 4K to 8K Ultra HD video streaming, augmented reality/virtual reality based media and 360 degree immersive media experience. Therefore, e-learning, telemedicine consultations, video conferencing and real-time IoT application-based services can be offered.

Subhashree Radhakrishnan, Vice President and Co-Founder, Plintron Group, said, “Plintron’s MVNA/MVNE platform supports 5G NSA Option 3 to be 5G compliant. This will allow MVNOs on our platform to offer differentiated services and applications. ”

Plintron’s 5G services are available with several MVNOs in the US and four European countries, and more will soon be available on its worldwide network. Plintron’s MVNA/MVNE platform has 5G Non-Standalone (NSA) deployed on its platform commercially since January 2021 to meet the immediate 5G technology requirements of its MVNO customers. The Plintron platform supports extended AMBR DL, which supports speeds greater than 4.2Gbps, such as 10Gbps.

Initially, Plintron implemented 5g NSA, as most early 5G developments by mobile network operators (MNO) were NSA implementations. For MNOs who primarily want to offer high-speed connectivity to consumers with 5G-enabled devices, the NSA is more appropriate as it allows them to leverage existing 4G LTE network investments in transport and mobile core and reduce capital costs implementation of a complete 5G network.

In 5G NSA mode, the existing 4G-LTE network is used for everything except the 5G data plan, which is based on 3GPP Release 15 version of 5G NR. Therefore, it is the best solution for MNOs who want to quickly deliver better data speeds through Enhanced Mobile Broadband (eMBB) or solve urgent LTE congestion issues.

Plintron looks forward to continuing to adopt new technologies and innovate to support its customers and MVNO partners in the future.
